In 1803, the Hazzard was captured by the French privateer Le Grand Napoleon. The ship was taken to Cherbourg, where it was fitted out as a privateer. The Hazzard was renamed Le Hussard, and it was given a crew of 100 men.
Le Hussard quickly became one of the most successful privateers in the French fleet. The ship captured numerous British merchant ships, and it caused significant damage to British shipping. In 1804, Le Hussard captured the British frigate HMS Speedy. The Speedy was a much smaller ship than the Hussard, but it was faster and more maneuverable. The Speedy was able to outrun the Hussard, and it escaped capture.
In 1805, Le Hussard was captured by the British frigate HMS Indefatigable. The Indefatigable was a much larger ship than the Hussard, and it was able to defeat the French ship in a fierce battle. The Hussard was taken to Portsmouth, where it was refitted and renamed HMS Hazzard.
The Hazzard was used as a transport ship during the Crimean War. The ship carried troops and supplies to the British army in the Crimea. The Hazzard also participated in the Battle of Sevastopol.
The Hazzard was sold out of the Royal Navy in 1856. The ship was then used as a merchant ship until it was scrapped in 1870.
