My Beauty Pageant Days Are Over

I still remember the day I was crowned Miss Teen USA. I was 17 years old, and it was the most surreal moment of my life. I had worked so hard to get to that point, and I was finally there. I was the most beautiful girl in the country, or at least that's what everyone told me.

For the next year, I traveled the country, making appearances and speaking at events. I was living my dream. But as time went on, I started to feel like something was missing. I was surrounded by beautiful people, but I didn't feel like I belonged. I was constantly being judged and scrutinized, and I started to lose sight of who I really was.

After my reign ended, I was lost. I didn't know who I was anymore. I had spent so long defining myself by my beauty, that I didn't know what else I had to offer. I tried to go back to my old life, but it didn't feel right. I was different now. I had seen the world and I had met so many different people. I couldn't go back to being the same person I was before.

It took me a long time to find my way again. But eventually, I realized that I didn't need to be the most beautiful girl in the world to be happy. I just needed to be myself.

I started to focus on my education and my career. I got a degree in journalism and I became a writer. I also started volunteering my time to help others. The more I got involved in my community, the more I realized that there was more to life than just beauty.

I'm still proud of the fact that I was Miss Teen USA. But it's not something that defines me anymore. I'm so much more than a beauty queen. I'm a writer, a volunteer, and a friend. I'm a strong, independent woman who is passionate about making a difference in the world.

My beauty pageant days are over, but I'm just getting started on my journey.
