The Early Years (1962-1970)
The Incredible Hulk first appeared in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #1 in May 1962. In this issue, Banner is transformed into the Hulk after being exposed to gamma radiation during a test of his gamma bomb.
The early Hulk stories were often dark and tragic. Banner struggled to control his newfound powers, and he often lashed out at those around him. However, the Hulk also had a soft side, and he often used his powers to help others.
In 1966, the Hulk was given his own solo series. The series was a huge success, and it helped to make the Hulk one of the most popular superheroes in the Marvel Universe.
The 1970s
The 1970s was a turbulent decade for the Hulk. The character underwent several changes in his appearance and personality, and he was often portrayed as a more violent and dangerous force.

In 1986, the Hulk was featured in The Incredible Hulk: Future Imperfect storyline. In this storyline, the Hulk was transported to a future where he was the leader of a group of rebels fighting against a tyrannical government.

The 2000s
The 2000s was a time of relative stability for the Hulk. The character was given a new ongoing series, and he was featured in several major crossover events.
In 2003, the Hulk was given a new ongoing series, The Incredible Hulk, written by Greg Pak. Pak's Hulk was more intelligent and articulate than previous incarnations of the character, and he was also more willing to use his powers for good.
In 2008, the Hulk was featured in the World War Hulk storyline. In this storyline, the Hulk returned to Earth to seek revenge on those who had wronged him. The storyline was a huge success, and it helped to reignite interest in the Hulk.
The 2010s
